With the end of January, its time to end new year celebrations and gear up for upcoming exams.
Grown up kids can follow these tips themselves but role of parents cannot be ignored.
Here are few exam tips for parents:
1. Exam preparation cannot be done overnight. So, make a study plan well before and adhere to it.
2. Help your child in subjects he needs your assistance.
3. If you also don't know much about the subject then prepare yourself first. This positive response improves confidence and determination of your child to excel.
4. Provide him/her an environment conducive to study. A distraction free place well equipped with stationary, dictionaries, reference books is a must. Proper height table chair and lightning is also essential. A separate study room is a bonus.
5. For subjects in which your child is weak or for tough subjects, fully involve yourself too. Try to make it a fun study. You may also consult his/her class or tuition teacher.
6. Exam time, for sure, is a pressure time both for parents and students but be cool and let so be your kid.
7. Don't compare him or his preparation with his friends.
8.Never let your ambitions and expectations be a burden on him.
9. Give your child healthy and nutritious food during exam time. Avoid sugary and fatty items. No junk food. Ensure he/she drinks enough water to keep him/herself hydrated. If you follow these healthy eating throughout the year then it's a bonus.
10. Ensure your child takes sufficient sleep. Only a fresh mind can study efficiently and remember for long. Avoid late night study unless you are sure that your child can sleep till late morning.
11. Let your child be stress free during exam time. Don't ask him to study full day. Let him go out and play or do whatever refreshes him or her.
12. Take precautions to avoid seasonal illnesses like cough and cold due to exposure to changing weather.
